RTSoft ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR THE ARM7™ AND ARM9™ PROCESSORS FROM ARM LIMITED

Moscow, Russia, December 2000 - RTSoft Inc., a leading provider of software development services, has announced that it will provide extended support for systems incorporating the ARM7™ and ARM9™ microprocessors from ARM Limited.

"Nearly half of existing cellular telephones incorporate ARM™ processors, and the recent licensing deal between ARM Limited and Motorola will accelerate the movement of ARM architecture into other markets, including PDAs, Web-pads, and smart phones," said Alexander Kaliadin, business development manager at RTSoft.

RTSoft provides custom software development, including custom firmware, drivers, Board Support Packages (BSPs), OS porting, protocol stacks and embedded applications, for specific customer applications. RTSoft can provide support based on a variety of real-time operating systems, including VxWorks, OS9, and OSE, as well as proprietary RTOS support.

According to Kaliadin, "A number of companies are rushing to integrate Bluetooth™ into ARM™-based designs. Many analysts believe that ARM™, along with Intel's StrongARM™ and new XScale™ architecture, will play the same role in the mobile market as Pentium processors now play on the desktop. Because of the rapid expansion of this market, and because the smallest design error can imperil an entire project, we believe there will be strong demand for the services provided by RTSoft Inc."

"ARM™-based architectures provide the right blend of raw horsepower and low power consumption for portable devices," Kaliadin said. "ARM has an opportunity to be a major player in the 3G mobile phone market, in which multimedia, voice, and Internet data streams must be processed in the same device."

"The goal of RTSoft is to simplify the transition from one core or microprocessor family to a new one," added Kaliadin. "This process always creates a tremendous challenge for manufacturers, and we are committed to making the transition as smooth as possible. We announce our support for a new architecture only after we have enough hands-on experience to ensure that our clients can rely on our services."
